The Streetscape Committee is a joint effort of the City of Oroville and the Oroville Chamber of Commerce. Our committee’s focus is to enrich the downtown core to make shopping and living in and around Oroville a pleasurable experience.
We do the following:
To create a positive architectural vista, we brainstorm ideas for our local businesses to consider including color schemes, signage, and creative curb appeal innovations.
To enhance the ambiance, we hang flower baskets from ornamental brackets throughout the downtown core and plant sidewalk containers. We landscape and plant empty spaces within the city with flowers each spring. We provide sidewalk benches for those wishing to rest, and make decisions on tree plantings and their care.
OROVILLE CENTENNIAL 1908 – 2008 “Honoring our Past – Celebrating our Future!”
Our greatest accomplishment to date has been the design, coordination and development of Centennial Park. Located on Main Street in the center of our city, the park is a visual asset and offers opportunities for activities, events and celebrations. CENTENNIAL PARK construction was coordinated by Hilary Blackler, Joan Cool and Barb Drummond for the Streetscape Committee, and Rod Noel for the City of Oroville.
WELCOME GATE PARK
Our latest project, which was started the summer of 2012, is the development of Welcome Gate Park, across from the Oroville Library. It is a welcoming addition to the Welcome Gates at the center of town.
It takes many volunteers make this program work, come join us!
