Mission Statement: The Chamber provides vision and leadership for Oroville and north central Okanogan County. We are committed to promote tourism, economic development and a positive business climate, resulting in stability and growth for the region.
Chamber Services: We provide our members with a vehicle to work together to accomplish the goals and objectives to further the success of their businesses and the community.
We sponsor and support: many civic events to attract customers to local businesses, assist new business prospects and new businesses to establish themselves, promote cooperation with City, County and other regional and local governments, provide member business listings in advertising on the Internet and other local and regional brochures and publications.
Economic Development: Promote the development of new motel(s) in and around Oroville – Heavy Haul Corridor – Railroad railhead in Oroville – Public Transportation.
Events: Northwest Ice Fishing Festival – Run for the Border – Community Fireworks – The TOAST of Oroville Wine Tasting – Halloween Trick or Treat & Business Costume Contest – Christmas Tree Lighting & Caroling. The Circus in 2011.
Fundraising: May Festival Barbecue.
Public Relations: Greeters & Ambassadors – Business After Hours – Advertising – Networking – Creating Partnerships – Promoting Regional Tourism, Trails and Scenic Byways, etc.
Government Affairs: Support City ownership/management of Osoyoos Lake State Park – Support Oroville School District Operating Levies
Internal Affairs: Banquet Budget – Bylaws – Membership – Nominations – Retention of records and memorabilia.
Harry Scherling Scholarship:
The Chamber meets every first Thursday of the month at 1:00 p.m. at a local restaurant. Meetings last about an hour and feature programs of great interest to the business community. See “General Membership Meeting” link under “Chamber of Commerce” to the left for more details.
